Error of Madness is being developed as a multi-platform work that is designed to exist across several interconnected forms:

• Fine art & photography exhibition

• Photography publication

• Documentary feature film

• Episodic documentary series

• Museum and university screenings

• Mental health and arts programming

• Educational workshops and public dialogue

 

Each of these forms carries the work into a different space. In galleries and museums, it functions as an immersive visual and narrative experience where photography, film, and process can be presented together as a unified body of work. In publication, it becomes a record of the collaboration and an extension of Linda Sibio’s artistic practice. In educational and institutional settings, the project opens space for conversations around perception, identity, and mental health through lived experience and visual storytelling rather than clinical framing.

A key component of this engagement is The Insanity Principle, a body of work developed by Linda Sibio that functions as a series of creative exercises exploring perception, altered states, and the relationship between lived experience and artistic expression. Originally created within her own practice, it is now a workshop-based program intended for universities, exhibitions, and arts institutions as part of the broader Error of Madness initiative.

Across all of these settings, the intention is not to simplify the subject matter, but to create multiple entry points into it—so the work can be encountered differently depending on the space it enters.
